    Kenneth Wang

    Experienced investor and Entrepreneur

    Mr. Wang has worked in the chemicals and life sciences industry as an engineer, management consultant, investment banker and entrepreneur for over 30 years. He gained hands-on experience as a process engineer, served on the Board of Managers of Aristech Acrylics (Mitsubishi Corporation) and helped found two advanced materials companies with defense and life science applications. Following senior investment banking positions at CS First Boston and JP Morgan, he became a financial advisor to small entrepreneurial companies as well as to multinationals (GE Plastics, ITOCHU, Marubeni, Mitsui). Projects include acquisitions that brought sales of Mitsubishi’s U.S. food ingredients business from startup to over $500 million.

    Gregory P. Ho, Chairman

    President and Head of Opportunity Zones at SMC

    Mr. Ho is the President of Spring Mountain Capital, LP and one of its founding partners. Prior to joining Spring Mountain in 2001, Mr. Ho was a Principal and Chief Financial Officer of McKinsey. During his 16 years with McKinsey, he led the financial and tax planning for the firm and its worldwide partner group. Mr. Ho also was a member of the firm’s Investment Committee and a Trustee of McKinsey’s Profit-Sharing Retirement Plan (PSRP). In these capacities, he oversaw the identification, evaluation, and selection of traditional and alternative asset managers and investments for over $1 billion of assets managed by the McKinsey Investment Office (MIO). Prior to joining McKinsey, he was associated with the law firm of Donovan Leisure Newton & Irvine.

    Mr. Ho is a member of the boards of directors of IsoPlexis, Inc. and ReNetX Bio, Inc., as well as other non-life science companies. He received a J.D. from Columbia Law School and a B.S., with honors, in Administrative Science from Yale College.

    John L. (Launny) Steffens

    Founder and Senior Management Director at SMC

    Mr. Steffens is the Founder and Senior Managing Director of Spring Mountain. Prior to founding Spring Mountain in 2001, Mr. Steffens spent 38 years at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., where he held numerous senior management positions, including President of Merrill Lynch Consumer Markets, Vice Chairman of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc., and Chairman of its U.S. Private Client Group. Under his leadership, the Private Client Group experienced tremendous growth, increasing assets under management from $200 billion to $1.6 trillion. Mr. Steffens also served on the board of directors of Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. from April 1986 until July 2001.
